Placement Programme

Our placement programme for 2024-25 is full. We will be offering placements for April 2025 onwards from January 2025. Please get in touch with us in January to be considered.

Bright Light recognises the importance of enabling counsellors in training to access placements and supporting counsellors to develop their practice. Therefore, we run an active programme that currently provides 6 student counsellors with a placement.

Of the six placements:

  • three are for students on the Couple Counselling certificate course

  • one is for a psychosexual/SRT (sexual relationship therapy) student.

  • two are for individual counsellors on a Diploma course

Student counsellors will already be qualified and are now doing further training and development.

As part of the programme, the counsellors have –

  • a dedicated member of the operational team to allocate clients and
    arrange appointments based on their training requirements and availability

  • group supervision paid for by Bright Light

  • peer support sessions

  • free access to in-house and Relationships Scotland CPD
